100% Custom 1962 Belair Bubble Top
This is an absolutely amazing car visually, audibly and driving! This car was built over many years to ultimately take the stage at many car shows around the country. The car was finished in 2015, showed for a few years then put away in hiding. I have had the privilege of being the caretaker of this car for the last couple of years and it has been an absolute blast to experience.
The car was finished by Lucky 7 Customs in Antioch, California. The 62 has been chopped 2 inches and channeled 3 inches. Lucky 7 completed the body, adding the frenched lights, shortened bumpers, and the handbuilt turn signals. They chose a brushed-metal theme to blend all that different metalwork together. The car was then sprayed in PPG Matte Copper, and all the trim was done in brushed nickel.
Powering the copper bubble is a Dart Iron Eagle small-block 427 spinning a Scat rotating assembly and a Comp Cams 0.650-lift camshaft. Chevy Performance splayed-valve, symmetrical-port heads give it a mean wide look, and a handbuilt EFI manifold done by Jim Farley of Farley Performance and Engineering just fits under the scoop. Jim also built the headers, which feed out into a stainless exhaust system bent up at Hill's Rod and Custom. The combo is good for 620 hp and 500 lb-ft of torque. This is backed by a Richmond 5 speed manual transmission.
The exterior is striking, and the powerplant will smoke the tires at will, but if you don't take a peek inside this Chevy, you'll be missing one of the most impressive parts of the build. Everybody asks about the interior work, and for good reason. The entire dash, center console, package tray, and waterfall between the rear seats are custom-sculpted and matte copper. The color repeats in the four bucket seats from Glide Engineering, and the red-gold suede headliner and Mercedes carpet. A Billet Specialties steering wheel in front of Auto Meter gauges finishes it off.
This car has been published in Hot Rod magazine, Motor Trend as well as online articles. It is an absolute blast to drive and is very fast. The car handles beautifully while accelerating or running at 130+. It is very dependable and draws a ton of attention. This was a very high dollar build that you can own for a fraction of the price. I am happy to provide any pictures or information that I may have missed.
