1932 Ford 3 window coupe. 50’s – 60’s Gasser
George Chatterton started racing this steel 1932 Ford 3W with partner Russ Russell in 1958. Being from Dayton, Ohio this put them right in the middle of the early gasser wars. Running in both C/Gas and C/Altered classes, the “32” ran 9.62 in C/Altered and 10.12 in C/Gas. Last run in 1971 it was stored away until purchased by current owner.
First powered by a “324” Olds until about 1960. They then installed “392” Hemi backed by a clutch flight trans.
The coupe is equipped with an 8-3/4 Chrysler rear end, chrome straight tub axle up front, and a full set of Halibrand magnesium wheels.
The coupe is sporting fiberglass fenders, running boards, hood, grille shell, and rear frame covers that were hand laid by George’s next-door neighbors. Upholstery was done in 1965. It was first done in red and then painted black. The gold leaf was added to advertise Russ’s transmision shop.
It is currently equipped with a ready to run Hilborn injected “392” Hemi and a race prepped Turbo 400 with stall converter.

Will need wiring, fuel system, and headers to run.
