The car is a 1936 Chevrolet 2 door Standard Coupe (not a Deluxe Model). A Deluxe model has 113” center to center on the wheels. This is 109”. The code on the tag on the firewall also identifies it as a standard model.

The mileage is not original. Probably reset when it was restored – 12,882.8 miles on the odometer.

It is not the original paint, but the original color and original color interior per the code tag.
Checked the paint thickness all over the car to determine if it had a bunch of filler. Found only a couple small places where there might have been any filler. All the fenders look good. The body is very sound along with the wood which is part of the 36’s structure.
Not sure if it is the original engine but definitely a period straight 6 cylinder motor with similar model transmission. Three speed on the floor.

With modern synthetic oil the engine pressure runs low. Oil needs changed to Classic Motor Oil for these old style engines.

I bought the car locally in Franklin, Ohio in 4/25/17.  Not sure how long the previous owner had it, but the trim around the license plate states – www.sierraclassics.com Reno, Nevada 775-786-7808.  So the car has been in a dry climate for some period of time. I also kept it stored inside.

Bought it with 12,832 miles on it, so one can see that I did not drive it much. The previous owner told me that he drove it to Cincy on the interstate at about 55 mph.
In August I drove the car around several blocks in Middletown. It appears that the driver’s side rear brake is hung up. The hub was warm when I returned to the house.

When examining the body we determined that the car had been in an accident in its earlier life. The frame rail on the driver’s side shows a repair. A 12” weld plate behind the bumper. The bottom flange of the rail was a bit wavy but very solid.

The interior looks original- if not it is restored to look original. The window cranks and door handles operate (very tight) with no wobble.
Have 2 little booklets for the 36 Chevy that I got at the Auburn, IN auction several years ago.

Very solid car and very respectable paint job and excellent interior. A little TLC and it would become a fun weekend car show and parade vehicle.
