Beautiful 1940 Ford Coupe built into a street rod in 1974 in Southern Indiana, former drag car in the 60’s with Candy Green Paint and Hemi, it was made Streetable by putting 390 FE Ford engine and cruiseomatic transmission and 1956 Ford Rear end with Parrallel Leaf Springs in the rear. The Firewall was flattened to make room for the engine, it has 4 Barrel Holleycarburetor and duel exhaust, Cal Custom valve covers, The Candy Red and white Lace over variegated colors paint job was done in 1973, it has foresight venture drag mag wheels, in the best condition I have ever seen including wheel center caps that I have never seen with these wheels!
The interior has Rich Black Naugahyde Roll and Pleat by Joe Coleman that is Amazingly Soft and Supple interior for being 46 years old! Chrome window mouldings round out the interior with the shifter mounted on the dash. The cruiseomatic has been replaced with a rebuilt C-6 transmission, for you see this 40 ford was last licensed and on the road in 1976. The last time it was driven was on July 4th 1976 to a fourth of July Parade in Madison, Indiana, and upon its return to Louisville Reverse went out of the transmission, never to leave the garage until April 22 2018 when we cleaned up what was piled around it, put air in the tires, filled the gas tank up that had been drained, new battery, filed the points, rebuilt carburetor, started up, transmission was toast so we rebuilt a C-6, shortened drive shaft, and took it for a ride. We have gone to Beatersville, Basement of Detroit and Brushmasters in Stamping Ground, KY. Now it is time for my 17 year old daughter to find what she would like to drive.

This is one of the nicest bodies I have seen with just a little rust in the floor of the trunk, have old Chrome 40 front axle and wishbone that goes with it.
