The numbers matching  “Super Turbo Fire” 283c.i. V8. That came with dual 4-barrel carburetors and was rated at 270 hp, solid 12-18 cam. Originally
came with a 3spd but now it has a Muncie 4 speed, posi rear, with 4.11 gears.
The chassis is fully restored and detailed,  featuring powder coated and painted parts,  lowered 2in in rear and slightly raised in the front,  with heavy duty springs.

Whoever originally ordered this beast had to be a speed demon of his era. It’s the ultimate rare “delete car.” It was manufactured at the old Oakland, California GM plant which shuttered in 1963. This Gold beauty spent its entire life in the Bay Area. With the “V” designation in the VIN – it was a coveted V8 version featuring one of the biggest and most powerful engines Chevy had to offer at the time – the “Super Turbo Fire” 283c.i. V8. That setup came with dual 4-barrel carburetors and was rated at 270 hp. This car also featured the rear seat delete, radio delete, heater delete and stationary rear quarter windows. True to form, this business coupe was all business when it came to acceleration. The only thing its owner was selling was win lights at the Fremont Drag Strip.
 This stunning machine was built at South city Rod and custom, By the multi award winning team. Bill and his crew are amazing. 
The interior was redone in black vinyl with one inch pleats by Chris Plante.
The paint and body is beyond perfection, Joe Compani at Compani colors completed the paint and body,  and it is hands down perfect.  The 1962 Gm Gold 50th anniversary color looks stunning .  The dash was repainted its stock combination of black and silver while the addition of the Moon Tachometer and Superior steering wheel cemented the 60s Muscle car vibe

The stance, the guts, the motor and the glowing gold hue make this one of the most bitchin’ ‘57 Chevys to come down the pike in a long while. Its Bay Area heritage will live on and will stand the hot rod test of time.
