I bought this car in November of 2012 from a great guy John Rodriguez from Texas. The car was purchased by John from the guy who restored the car in 2006 of which I have all the build pics and receipts. There is only one small 3”x5” spot that was replaced in the lower right front fender and that is it.
John who is a GM service manager (and drag racing guy) rebuilt the motor to his specs. The engine is a 350 ci with a high nickel 4 bolt main block bored to 4.030”. The rotating assembly was blueprinted and balanced. It has a Callie crank (3.5 stoke), Lunati rods, Speed Pro Pistons and Fluidampr balancer.
The cam is a Comp Cam Mutha Thumper hydraulic roller camshaft. The cylinder heads are 461’s that were polished and ported.
The motor only had 500 miles on it when I bought it.
The suspension was totally rebuilt before I bought it with new bushings and ball joints.
Since I have owned it I had Scott Sullivan help transform the car from the steel wheels and bias ply tires to what you see now, $17,500. This included the following:
Stepped and narrowed A-arms
Lowered the car more
New headers and redone the exhaust
4 wheel Wilwood disc brakes
Rebuilt Muncie transmission
New billet flywheel
New Mcleod clutch
Narrowed (2” each side) rear end
Rebuilt rear end with new Eaton gears
15×6 American Rebel wheels in the front
15×8 American Rebel trick 8 wheels in the rear
New BFG tires
The car has just been freshly detailed and ceramic coated. In the almost 8 years I have owned it I have probably not put 3000 miles on it.
The car will also come with
3 California car covers
14×5 and 14×7 steel wheels and caps on BFG bias ply tires
The drum brakes that were removed and worked perfectly
Fender well headers
The body is laser straight and I would give it it a 9.5 out of 10. Scott has commented that is is one of the nicest 63’s he has seen which in my opinion says a lot.
Only thing wrong with it is the speedo doesn’t work and that’s it.
